Joёlle Sleebos and adidas South Africa have joined forces to present International Day of Yoga at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) on Saturday 17 June 2017, uniting 2 000 yogis for two remarkable causes.
Entries are free but securing a ticket is essential. Participants can choose from either a morning session that will run from 08h30 to 13h30; or an afternoon session that will run from 14h00 to 19h00. Both sessions will have yoga workshops and a yoga market with great prizes to be won.
Participants are being encouraged to donate to two charities close to Joëlle’s heart – Earthchild Project and mothers2mothers. The Earthchild Project goes into underprivileged schools and teaches yoga and life skills to children of all ages, which resonates strongly with adidas South Africa because sport has the power to change lives. The Earthchild Project is already working with over 2 000 children in Khayelitsha and Lavender Hill.
The aim of mothers2mothers is to eliminate paediatric AIDS by training, employing and empowering local mothers living with HIV to go into their local communities and be mentors to other mothers who are pregnant with HIV/AIDS, teaching them how to care for their baby to ensure the prevention of HIV/Aids.
