Race or run for the fun – and help raise funds for the Boland School for Autism – by entering the Afrikaanse Taalmonument and Paarl Athletics Club’s annual Night Race on Wednesday 9 December 2015. Medals, cash prizes and lucky draws are up for grabs.
Boland School for Autism, a registered non-profit organisation, was founded in 2010. Today the school accommodates more than 20 students, who come from as far away as Tulbagh, Stellenbosch, Saron and Wellington. The school’s team consists of teachers, assistants, occupational and speech therapists, a biokineticist, an educational psychologist, and a school administrator. Parents cannot always afford all these services.

The 5 km Word Run, that starts at 18:40, is suitable for the entire family. Prams are welcome. The entry fee is R15. Participants receive an Afrikaans word instead of a number.

The 10km Night Race, held in accordance with the rules of Athletics South Africa and Athletics Boland starts at 18:30. The race follows a scenic and challenging route along both tar and gravel roads. Walkers are welcome to enter. The entry fee is R40, with temporary numbers (for non-members of athletic clubs) available at R30.
Participants may pre-enter online at www.entrytime.com (https://www.entrytime.com/event-details/?EventId=4544) / www.sa-active.co.za (R6 extra fee per entry, deadline is 03.12.15), or at the Taalmonument (daily from 08:00 until 17:00). Entries on the day of the race will be possible from 17:00 until 18:15.
Entrance is free for supporters. Own picnic baskets are welcome and refreshments will be for sale. For enquiries about the 10 km Night Race, contact Sybrand du Plessis at 083 444 6940, and for enquiries about the 5 km Word Run, contact Amira Clayton at tel. 021 863 4809/0543 or kommunikasie@taalmuseum.co.za.
