The opening ceremony will be held on two nights – on Friday 6 and Saturday 7 December 2019 – when the audience will be invited to join a procession across a multi-sensory, cross-cultural wonderland featuring dancers, stilt walkers and other illuminating enchantments.
Tickets for the opening night start at R200 per person including a glass of Spier Signature wine and is available on www.webtickets.co.za. From 8 December 2019 to 19 January 2020, Spier Light Art will be freely accessible to the public. The best time to visit is at dusk, when you can catch both the beautiful sunset and the switching on of the lights. Be sure to book a dinner or picnic in advance. Spier Light Art 2019/2020 builds on the success of the inaugural festival, held on the estate during the 2018/2019 festive season. Over this period, thousands of visitors to Spier were enthralled by an array of light art installations conceptualised and created by some of South Africa’s leading artists and designers. Spier Light Art is one of Spier’s Growing for Good initiatives, which empower communities to create positive social and environmental change.
