Franschhoek | Leeu Collection embarked on an exciting journey with the Cape Brewing Company (CBC) to bring you Tuk Tuk Microbrewery in the village of Franschhoek.
Leeu Collection (in Sanskrit Singh means lion, which is leeu in Afrikaans) comprises three five-star boutique properties in South Africa’s winelands: Leeu Estates, a 17-room country house and boutique winery in the Franschhoek valley; Leeu House, an exclusive 12-room hotel in the heart of Franschhoek village; and Le Quartier Français, a romantic 26-room hotel and three-bedroom LQF Villa, also located in the village. The first addition to the portfolio outside of South Africa was Linthwaite House, a 36-room country retreat overlooking Lake Windermere in England’s scenic Lake District, followed by Leeu Villa Querce, a luxury hotel and gardens in Florence, Italy (opening 2021), and a luxury hotel in the West End of London, United Kingdom (opening 2019).
Kaspar Schulz in Bamberg, Germany was commissioned to build the bespoke microbrewery at Tuk Tuk. The company has over 300 years of experience in brew system fabrication and the 250-litre capacity copper microbrewery is sure to become a new landmark on Huguenot Street.
