On the last Friday of July, De Grendel’s Tasting Room is open until 19h00 for their popular Winter Wine Down Evenings. With panoramic and breath-taking vistas of Table Mountain, De Grendel is the perfect destination in the Durbanville Wine Valley to enjoy a spectacular sunset accompanied by a well-deserved glass of wine and some gourmet snacks at the end of the week.
From the tasting lounge and veranda, guests can look out over the vineyards with a magnificent Cape Town city and Atlantic Ocean to paint the perfect canvas. De Grendel’s tasting room will be open from 16h30 to 19h00 to serve their acclaimed wines by the bottle. Their Gourmet Snack Selection, prepared by Chef Ian Bergh, is available at the De Grendel Tasting Room for R195 per selection. This delicious new addition is ideal as a light snack for two whilst soaking up the last rays of sunshine.
De Grendel’s Winemaker, Charles Hopkins, is one of South Africa’s most highly regarded winemakers, a member of the Cape Winemakers Guild and for¬mer Chairman of the South African Wine Show Association. His entire range of wines will be available to order by the bottle during the Winter Wine Down Evenings and discounts are offered for De Grendel loyalty club members who would like to purchase wine to take home.
